Documentary wedding photography at Garre Vineyard & Winery. Real moments, real emotions, no posing.
Garre Vineyard is Livermore Valley at its best. Close enough to the Bay Area that your guests are not driving for hours, but far enough that it actually feels like wine country.
The Martinelli Event Center is the main wedding space and it is beautiful. High ceilings, exposed beams, natural stone. It has that warm, Tuscan feel without being over the top. The attached patio opens up to the vineyards so your cocktail hour flows seamlessly from inside to outside.
What I love about shooting at Garre is the variety within a small space. You have the vineyard rows (classic, clean, romantic), the bocce courts (fun, casual, great energy), the event center interior (moody, elegant), and the garden areas. All within a two minute walk of each other. That means we spend more time shooting and less time driving between locations.
The Livermore Valley light is different from Napa or Sonoma. It is warmer, drier, and the golden hour lasts longer because the hills to the west are lower. More shooting time, less stress.

Classic symmetrical vine rows stretching toward the hills. Clean backgrounds, beautiful leading lines. Golden hour here is unreal.
Stone patio overlooking the vineyard. Great for cocktail hour portraits and candid guest moments.
Casual, fun area perfect for candid bridal party shots. The string lights above create a great atmosphere for evening photos too.
Small formal garden with a stone fountain. Intimate, shaded, and perfect for quiet couple portraits away from guests.
High ceilings, exposed wood beams, warm lighting. Creates moody, elegant reception portraits.
Here's what a typical wedding day looks like at this venue
I capture all the details and candid moments while you get ready. Dress, shoes, rings, the nervous laughter, the tearful first look in the mirror.
Private first look in the garden area, then portraits around the vineyard while the light is warm and soft.
Fun, relaxed group photos at the bocce courts and patio. No stiff lineups, just real moments with your favorite people.
Your ceremony with vineyard views. I capture every vow, every tear, every smile from angles you will not even know about until you see the photos.
Garre faces west toward the Livermore hills. The hills are lower here than in Napa/Sonoma, so golden hour starts earlier and lasts longer. In summer, plan for golden hour around 6:30 to 7:30pm. The vineyard rows run east-west, which means golden hour light shoots straight down the rows. Absolutely perfect for portraits.
Large dedicated parking lot on site. Easy access from I-580. About 45 minutes from San Francisco, 30 minutes from San Jose. No parking stress at all.
Music must end by 10pm. No confetti or rice (vineyard rules). Sparklers allowed in designated areas only. All vendors must have liability insurance.
The rows run east-west, so when the sun sets, the light shoots straight down the aisles like a spotlight. Time your portraits for this window and the photos practically take themselves.
The patio is the perfect transition space. Your guests enjoy wine and appetizers with a vineyard view while we sneak away for couple portraits. Nobody even notices you are gone.
Seriously, the string lights and casual vibe make this area perfect for fun bridal party photos. Skip the formal lineup and let everyone just hang out here instead.
Livermore gets hot in summer (90 to 100 degrees is normal). An outdoor ceremony before 5pm can be brutal. Start your ceremony at 5:30 or later so your guests are comfortable and the light is better.
Your wedding photos are forever. I build custom packages based on your specific day and needs. The investment reflects the full experience: planning guidance, expert coverage, and an artistic eye. Book a free call to talk about your vision.
Yes. Garre is one of the best value-for-quality venues in the Bay Area. The Martinelli Event Center is gorgeous, the staff is experienced, and the Livermore Valley setting gives you that wine country feel without the Napa price tag.
Golden hour, every time. The vineyard rows line up perfectly with the sunset. In summer that is around 7pm, in winter around 4:30pm. I build every timeline around this window because it is where the best photos happen.
Yes. I know the layout, the light patterns, and the best spots at every hour of the day. That familiarity means I can get you incredible photos without wasting a single minute of your day.
I've shot at Garre Vineyard & Winery 1 time and know every corner, every angle, every moment of light. Let me guide you through your entire wedding day so you can be fully present.
Free 15-minute call. No pressure. I book limited weddings per season.
The vineyard rows light up. This 30 to 45 minute window is where the showstopper portraits happen. Just you two and the most perfect light.
Toasts, first dance, cake cutting, the party. I document everything candidly so you can relive every moment exactly as it happened.
Garre has an on-site Italian restaurant (Cafe Garre) that is perfect for rehearsal dinners. Keeps everything in one place and your out-of-town guests will love it.
Garre is a great engagement session location. The vineyard rows, garden, and bocce courts give us variety within one spot. I recommend late afternoon for the best light.
