West Point Inn

Hike-in-only inn (no road access). 3-mile hike for guests. Off-grid wedding territory — very small (under 50) but unforgettable.

Muir Woods Visitor Center

Permitted ceremony spot inside Muir Woods. Redwoods backdrop. Strict NPS permit (apply 9+ months out).

Stinson Beach

20 min from Mt Tam. Beach ceremony permits via Marin County. Less competitive than SF beach permits.

Roy's Redwoods + Samuel P. Taylor

State park redwood ceremony spots. Permits via CA State Parks. Beautiful but logistically complex (no on-site reception).

Mt Tam vs. Muir Woods for redwood ceremonies?+
Muir Woods has the more famous redwoods but stricter NPS permitting (9+ months, $300 permit, no amplified sound). Mt Tam state park has redwoods at Cathedral Grove + Roy's Redwoods with simpler CA State Parks permits.
Will fog affect our ceremony?+
Mt Tam is famous for summer fog rolling in 4–6pm. We schedule ceremonies for 1–3pm sun, or fully embrace 5pm fog (some of our most cinematic ceremony coverage). We'll know 7 days out and brief you on what to expect.
Cushing Memorial Theatre — is it worth the permit hassle?+
Yes. Stone-amphitheater + redwoods + ocean view is uniquely cinematic. We'll handle the application paperwork. Permit fee is $400. Apply 12 months ahead for May–Oct dates.
How does altitude / drive affect guest experience?+
Mt Tam summit is 2,500 ft — winding roads, tight parking. Guests over 70 sometimes struggle. Recommend Mountain Home Inn (paved road access) for older guests, save Cushing/West Point for active crowds.
How early should we book?+
Saturday weddings May–Oct — 12 to 18 months out (limited venue capacity). Friday/Sunday + off-season — 6 to 9 months. Hike-in venues like West Point Inn fill earliest.
