Monterey is bigger, more lodging, more variety (Aquarium tank reception is unique). Carmel is smaller, foggier, more romantic-cottage. We have separate pages for both — pick by aesthetic.
Best month?+
May, June, September, October. June + September deliver fog mornings (cinematic) + sun afternoons (warm portraits). Avoid summer Saturday tourist crowds at the Wharf — schedule ceremony at 4pm or later.
Can you shoot at the Aquarium?+
Yes — multiple times. The kelp tank reception is legendary. Lighting is challenging — we bring the right glass + plan around the tank lighting cycle.
