Iconic spots

Where Death Valley couples elope.

Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes

Iconic windswept dunes near Stovepipe Wells. Sunrise = clean ripples + low light. Sunset = dramatic shadows. Best for ceremony 30 min after sunrise. NPS permit required.

Zabriskie Point

Badlands overlook — golden eroded ridges at dawn. Most-photographed Death Valley spot. Quick ceremony pull-up location, then deeper portraits down the trail.

Badwater Basin (-282 ft)

Lowest point in North America — salt flats stretching to the horizon. Best 2 hours after sunrise (heat + light). Otherworldly elopement frame.

Artist's Palette / Artist's Drive

Volcanic rock in pink, green, yellow, lavender. Sunset light makes the colors pop. 9-mile scenic drive with multiple pullouts.

The Inn at Death Valley (Furnace Creek)

1927 Mission-Revival hotel — palm-oasis swimming pools + lush gardens (somehow, in the desert). Indoor lodging + reception space. Books 9 months out.

Dante's View / Father Crowley Vista

Sky-high overlooks 5,000+ ft above the valley floor. Cooler temps, dramatic perspective shots. Pair with valley-floor ceremony for variety.

FAQ

Most-asked.

When can we elope here? Isn't Death Valley too hot?+
Mid-October to mid-April. Summer (May to September) hits 110-130°F daytime — unsafe + unphotogenic. November to March is the sweet spot. Sunrise/sunset always — never midday.
NPS permit?+
Yes — National Park wedding permit ~$300, file 2 to 4 months ahead. We help time the permit window with golden hour. Your planner files; we coordinate logistics.
How many guests can come?+
20 max for permit — most spots cap small. We've done 6-guest sunrise dune ceremonies through 25-guest Furnace Creek receptions. The smaller the better for Death Valley.
Cost?+
AGV starts at $4,500 for Photo + Film for desert elopements. Multi-day with sunset + sunrise + Furnace Creek dinner is $6,500 to $8,500.
Travel?+
4 hours from LA, 5 from Vegas, 9 from SF. We arrive day before to scout the exact spot at the exact light angle. Cell service is sparse — we plan with paper maps + offline GPS.
