How does guest travel work for Catalina?+
Catalina Express ferry from Long Beach (1 hour) or Dana Point (90 min). Helicopter from Long Beach (15 min, ~$700/person) for VIPs. Most guests do 2-night minimum stay because of ferry schedules. Plan it like a destination wedding.
Avalon vs. Two Harbors?+
Avalon is the main town (3,500 residents) with restaurants, shops, the Casino — feels like a small Mediterranean village. Two Harbors is the rural west end (200 residents) — truly remote, 1 small lodge. Pick Avalon for ease of guest experience, Two Harbors for true escape.
How does Catalina compare to a Hawaii destination wedding?+
Far cheaper guest travel (1-hour ferry vs. 5-hour flight). Most CA-based guests can do it as a long weekend. Vendor logistics are simpler since LA is 1 hour away. Less of a "wow" destination factor than Hawaii but much more accessible.
